I was very excited by the Art for Obama Auction that I learned about recently and immediately I wanted to participate by donating one of my photographs. After I inquired with the event coordinator and was told that they were no longer taking submissions - I have decided to take matters into my own hands. I am auctioning the following print called ChallengeR staring NOW! It is an image I made on the big island in the state of Hawaii (birthplace of Barack Obama) in 2007. It is unframed and not mounted. It is 25" x 21" and is number 2 in an edition of 10.
The bidding will start at $350.00 (valued at $2000.00) and will close on Wednesday October, 15 at 8 pm. I will post the bids as they are received. Bids should be in $25.00 increments and stop at $2000.00 - were it to get that high - ($2300 is the maximum per person donation to any political candidate and I have already donated $250.00 of my own money...) If my readers could spread the word that would be great - I don't want this whole endeavor to be an embarrassment.
