I recently finished the
Patti Smith book about her relationship/friendship with
Robert Mapplethorpe and their coming of age in New York in the 1970's. It is a great book and a wonderful window into the downtown art and music scene when New York was still accessible and affordable. They both fed off of and encouraged each other's creativity - which is extraordinarily valuable. A great
